Dribbling the ball

In P.E we are learning how to play football. Yesterday afternoon we focused on dribbling the ball. We watched a short clip to show us techniques before we went outside.

Do you know how to dribble a football?

Guess the weight

For children in need, children that paid an additional £1 played ‘Guess the weight’. They had to guess the weight of a fruit bowl!

The winner in KS2 who guessed the closest weight was Jamie in Class 8.

In Class 6, the person who guessed the closest was Georgia!

Well done Jamie and Georgia!

Typing up our stories

In Literacy we typed up our Egyptian stories using MacBooks. We had to think of ways we could improve them and make sure it included our new learning about speech and adjectives!

What have you been learning about in Literacy?

Champions for change!

Today we dressed up in our pyjamas with crazy hair to raise money for children in need!

Did you enjoy wearing your pyjamas?

Dribbing and passing

In football this afternoon we focused on passing the ball and dribbling. We would dribble a little bit before passing the ball.

Antonio demonstrated dribbling to the whole class. When he was asked how he knew to do it he told us that he had watched football on the television and watched carefully at how the professional players dribble the ball! Isn’t that a good idea?

What new skills have you been learning in P.E?

Writing our poppies and researching our heroes!

This afternoon we cut out our poppies and wrote a message to the soldiers that fought for us in the war.

After that, we researched some facts about the heroes that are shown on the website. We found out some interesting facts. For example, did  you know that Winston Churchill was the British prime minister? Or that William John Streets was a soldier and a famous poet?

What facts have you found out?

Champions for Change!

This afternoon we had a short assembly about what we plan to do for children in need this year. School council delivered a fantastic assembly showing us a few short videos about how the money we raise will be used to help change lives of children in the UK. School council have arranged for us to dress up in pyjamas and to have crazy hair this Friday, 13th November. We will also have a ‘guess the weight’ competition on the Friday afternoon!

Are you looking forward to Friday?

We love reading in class 6. We are currently working really hard to make sure we read at home to reach our target of 95% of reading diaries signed every week.

Are you reading at home? What is your favourite book?

Keynotes and eBooks

Lola and Chloe have been busy this afternoon making a keynote and eBook on food chains!

Look out for their keynote on the website soon!

What have you been making keynotes or eBooks about?
