Keeping Safe and Happy Online

This afternoon, following assembly, we carried on our discussion about eSafety. We re-watched the video and thought about the different words in the video and they mean. Here are some of the ideas we came up with:

“Privacy means keeping your details to yourself.” – Adams.

“Happy means when something makes you smile.” – Kyle.

“Happiness can be showing your different positive emotions.” – Emily.

“Safety means keeping yourself protected.” – Georgia.

We also talked about the different messages and what they mean to us, such as:

No way in real life, no way online.

Protecting my privacy, keeping my dignity.

Keep it mine, not online.

What does eSafety mean to you? How are you staying safe online?

Inspirational people

After P.E, we were thinking about inspirational people. We learned about people such as Ghandi, Mother Teresa and Pope John Paul. These people helped others that were in need.

Who do you find inspirational and why?

Runner beans

This afternoon, we have been learning about respect. Timothy had noticed that the runner beans outside our classroom were ready to be picked. He had to show respect by carefully picking the beans without damaging the rest of the plant. He then carefully cut them into pieces to share with the rest of the class. They were really yummy!

What does respect mean to you?

Writing our poppies and researching our heroes!

This afternoon we cut out our poppies and wrote a message to the soldiers that fought for us in the war.

After that, we researched some facts about the heroes that are shown on the website. We found out some interesting facts. For example, did  you know that Winston Churchill was the British prime minister? Or that William John Streets was a soldier and a famous poet?

What facts have you found out?
