Shropshire salumi

Class 6 had the opportunity to work with Will, local entrepreneur who makes cured meats and created his successful own recipes. Today, he worked with our class designing pork patties. The children chose their own combinations of spices. They weight the ingredients and mixed mince pork with spices. Making patties was a fun activity discovering different textures, taste, smell and learning about job opportunities. We designed our own logo and advertisement for the food we created.

Have you ever experiment with different spices?

Have you ever done a print press?

Reciting Poetry

This morning in literacy, we completed our poems and then recited the first stanza. We then put these onto IMovie so that the whole class could listen to part of our poems at the end of the day.

How did you find reciting your poem?

This week in literacy we are looking at poetry. This involves reading a variety of poems, as well as writing our own short, descriptive poems. Today, we got prepared by writing down key words based on two ocean pictures.

What descriptive words did you think about when you looked at the two pictures?

Today in Literacy, we took part in the 500 word BBC Live Lesson. They talked about what makes a good story and shared ideas for characters and settings. The chosen dialogue that we needed to include was “I can see you.” which we all had lots of fun trying to fit into our own stories later on!

Emily’s book

Great work Emily, you have worked hard to make this herb book. You have used some lovely non fiction features in your writing.

Typing up our stories

In Literacy we typed up our Egyptian stories using MacBooks. We had to think of ways we could improve them and make sure it included our new learning about speech and adjectives!
