Morrells Wood farm

What a great day at the farm working out the perimeter, collecting data using data loggers and working toward farming and agriculture award and making boats and paper. We enjoyed working on our resilience pillars.



Egyptian food.

The Children enjoyed making Egyptian food today. On the menu was hummus with pitta bread.

They all joined in and prepared a delicious dish, which they all enjoyed trying. We made excellent keynotes for you to follow.

Using controlled technology to understand hieroglyphics.

Today class 6 has been learning about Egyptian writing. We used used Egyptian writing to write our initials in salt dough plate. After practising the writing it was a time for using robots to copy our hieroglyphics.

Viking brooches


Last week, we made viking brooches using salt dough. We researched what they would have looked like and then made ours using similar designs. Today we were able to paint them using metallic acrylic paint to make them look even better!

Making Viking Instruments

This afternoon we were making different instruments using materials such as string, elastic, plastic, rice and pasta shells to create different sounds. We then had tot think about how our instrument made its sound, the pitch, tone and volume.

Christmas cakes

This afternoon, class 6 have been busy making christmas cakes out of rice crispies, chocolate and food colouring! We also made cellophane bags to put them in. We are really looking forward to decorating them tomorrow!

Making stone age flat bread

Class 6 made stone age flat bread using water and a mix of ingredients such as oat flakes, wheat flour, rye flour and seeds. We had to roll the mixture into a ball and then press it flat.

Designing our Stone Age shelters

This afternoon Class 6 have been designing their own Stone Age shelters, we have been deciding on what we think the best natural materials are to use.
